shortclosetab's Issues

The extension resets user's preferred keyboard mapping scheme

Installed product versions

  • Visual Studio: 2015 Community
  • This extension: 1.1.3

Description

Preferred keyboard mapping scheme gets changed to (Default) when a project is loaded.

Steps to recreate

  1. Install the extension
  2. Open Visual Studio, go to Environment > Keyboard in Visual Studio's options dialog, select a keyboard mapping scheme other than (Default).
NB: I tested with Visual Basic 6.
    • Optional: Load and build a solution to verify the key bindings.
  3. Close Visual Studio
  4. Reopen a Solution in Visual Studio via either of the following methods:
    i. Open Visual Studio, and then open the desired solution.
ii. Double-click on a solution file (*.SLN) in Windows Explorer to open it directly in Visual Studio.
  5. Go to Environment > Keyboard in Visual Studio's options and notice that the scheme chosen at step 2 has been reset to (Default).
  6. Uninstall or disable the extension.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 5. This time, at step 5, notice that the previously-selected scheme was preserved.

Current behaviour

The extension causes the preferred keyboard mapping scheme in Visual Studio to be changed to (Default).

Expected behaviour

The new keyboard mapping (CTRL + W) should be applied on top of the user's preferred keyboard mapping scheme instead of being applied over a reset scheme.
