ask the bot how long it knows a nick

the feature:

1. a ,know?
2. returns the first seen date / time
   1. date time of the first-seen record

first-seen:

1. when someone joins for the first time
2. or when someone post it's first message according to the bot (some people are already joined before the bot started remembering people)

implement bot versioning when calling it with ,version

the version could be the commit hash for now

Welcome new users of the channel

When a new user joins the channel, welcome them and give them some useful links (wiki, main page, etc...)

advanced auto-reconnect

ERC has basic auto reconnect, but will not try on failure

this feature is to:

1. implement a method that detects if ERC is connected or not
2. implement a timer based call to detect if ERC is disconnected
3. /reconnect if it's not connected

the timer should have a:

1. initial delay to start looking (configurable). this is to avoid reconnecting before we even started the bot
2. a time internal to check for connection status (configurable)

this must be implemented as a ERC module and built with a re-use intent

Capture messages for offline users

leaving a message for someone who isn't currently online.

Seen:

• The #emacs channel bot has that
• The #guile channel also has one where you can say ": later tell daviwil Check out the latest code"

Possible implementation to build a bbdb db with user information. Would enable other features too

2. returns:
   1. last seen date/time

the activity can be:

1. someone's last join
2. someone's last message

add monitoring to the bot not coming online
