pdfsuite's Issues

Problem in python2 and python3 with applying Quartfilter

I am using BigSur. I see the same problem with python 2 and python 3:

python quartzfilter.py /home/johnweissberg/Desktop/wp2print-flyer-a4-with-bleed.pdf '/System/Library/Filters/Gray Tone.qfilter' /home/johnweissberg/Desktop/wp2print-flyer-a4-with-bleed-gray-quartzfilter.pdf

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "quartzfilter.py", line 69, in main
pdfDoc.writeToFile_withOptions_(outputfile, dict)
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'writeToFile_withOptions_'

Fake short-edge binding option when printing booklets

Most printers assume long-edge binding when printing two-sided. Finding the printer option for short-edge binding can be awkward to find, especially when sharing a printable PDF booklet to most average Joes.

I usually dodge this by rotating every other page in a booklet by 180°. Be nice to get a pointer of where and how to hack booklet.py to do this. Somewhere around line 158 I guess...

Any kind souls fancy giving me a pointer please?

EDIT: Last time I looked at this, I turned up some Stack overflow ideas, but failed to see how to integrate them.

Add svg/pdf logo into existing PDF?

You mention in the readme "Add page numbers, watermarks, tints or other text and graphics to PDFs", but I don't see any further mention of adding images to a PDF.

I'm trying to replace an existing image with another in a PDF via the command line (even if that means placing the new image on top of the old one), but not sure if this is possible with PDFsuite?

Error on export on some pdfs

I encounter some pdfs that cause trouble. I'm attaching one such. Using pdf2png.py I get the error CoreGraphics PDF has logged an error. Set environment variable "CG_PDF_VERBOSE" to learn more. The cover page is not exported.
I'm using Python 3.10.6, pyobjc 9.0.1, macOS Ventura 13.2.
