WebGis adalah pemetaan digital yang memanfaatkan jaringan internet sebagai media komunikasi yang berfungsi mendistribusikan, mempublikasikan, mengintegrasikan, mengkomunikasikan dan menyediakan informasi dalam bentuk teks, peta digital serta menjalankan fungsi–fungsi analisis dan query yang terkait dengan GIS melalui jaringan internet (Prahasta 2007).
