@jairideout , haven't heard anything back for PR and issue. just wondering, what is the future of burrito? is qiime2 gonna use it?

It's unclear right now, though the current burrito/burrito-fillings code needs a lot of work and a rewrite may be quicker/easier. I'm not sure what the future of this project is, you might check with @gregcaporaso (he's the maintainer).

Thanks, Jai. Agree that burrito can use an improvement. @gregcaporaso
https://github.com/gregcaporaso, what do you think of the future of
burrito? will QIIME2 use it? We are currently heavily using burrito (not
burrito-fillings) in micronota. No matter what, we still need a application
controller for quite a few projects in the labs.

@gregcaporaso , just check again if you have any thoughts about refactoring burrito? Can we start listing out todo's and discuss the best approach moving forward?
- enable universal names for common parameters. For example, different app use different flag name for CPU cores, a dict mapping from a controlled name to original flag can make the parameter passing across app much easier.
- follow naming convention and borrow code from
click
. click has pretty comprehensive tool set to deal with various types of cmd line parameters. probably make it a dependency? - use
shlex
module

@RNAer, I'm going to start a discussion of this in a new issue. I did not see these comments (they were buried in a lot of GitHub emails I get - a common problem for me that I need to sort out).
