There appears to be a deep bug in the latest Mac build of ManyTrack that might have something to do with the library mac versions or their interactions. I'm planning on dropping the supported mac release back to the previous binary.
At this point, trying to maintain the two builds is preventing progress on the stable codebase, so unless someone wants to adopt responsibility for ensuring the Mac version remains in sync with the main release, it's going to remain experimental and unsupported.
I think moving forward the best way to support Mac users is to build up our documentation and testing around virtualization options. I've been testing on VirtualBox, and with the right settings the performance hit, while not negligible, isn't so bad that it's a non-starter.
If anybody does want to take over maintenance of the Mac binary, here's basically what it would entail:
I'm leaving this issue up, marked as #wontfix, as a kind of notice to any active users/developers interested in our Mac release. Please chime in if you're interested, or with suggestions if you're a Mac user.
I've recently received following error during ManyTrack tracking:

Hey, I have installed the latest official release for a mac and am working through the tutorial youtube videos. Everything seems to be working, only when I got to Manytrack, when I try and upload the model image it won't let me upload any png or other image file. It will only let me choose the folder containing the file, but then when I try and track, nothing happens. I am guessing that it's not uploaded the model properly rather than it's not tracking properly... Any help really gratefully received, this program is exactly what I need for my data analysis...
Screenshot of greyed-out png attached.
thank you!
The wiki at wiki.bio-tracking.org is out of date, and the UI changes make the old tutorial misleading (specifically, selecting a folder of model PNG files instead of a single file).
It may be useful at this point to move the wiki over here to github, and not have to worry about administration for the separate wiki.
I know that this project hasn't been actively maintained in a while, but it looks like it is doing exactly what I need. However, when I download the binaries in Ubuntu 16.04 (and 14.04), and try to run the binaries, I get the following error:
Illegal instruction (core dumped)
I also tried the 32 bit versions, just to see, and I get a similar error:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
I also tried to install from source, so I have installed all of the listed dependencies. However, I am not seeing any make file with the code, so I am not sure what (if any) details I need for compiling. I am running it in VirtualBox right now (using the image you provide), but that is painfully slow.
So, I guess the question is: any way of getting this to run natively in 16.04? If not, have you released a different system that does this that I am just not finding?
Thanks
I have been poking around the software for a few weeks but it seems that some major improvements have been made since the pre-installed version 1.1 image. I've been trying to install the latest version for two days now, but I don't seem to be able to make any sense of how it's done since I have literally no experience with Ubuntu. I was wondering if a an image with the latest version pre-installed is lying around somewhere and I'm missing it?
