empty hashes not added to result

Hello,
thnx for your gem, I like it and use it. I have some problems as it skips empty hashes completely:

irb(main):002:0> require 'flat_keys'
=> true
irb(main):003:0> cc = {:empty => {}, :notempty => 'ne', :halfempty => {:totallyempty => {}, :notsoempty => 'blah', :nilval => nil}}
irb(main):004:0> cc.flat_keys
=> {"notempty"=>"ne", "halfempty.notsoempty"=>"blah", "halfempty.nilval"=>nil}

So feature request, can it be forced with some parameter to not skip those, but put them as empty values instead, like it is not skipping nils?
Do you accept PRs? :)
