If you are creating an item of type login (1), then you need to provide the item.login template in the login field. Right now it is just null, which is invalid.

I also encountered this, as a total newbie to bitwarden. I think this doc needs to be updated:

which just states

bw create (item|attachment|folder|org-collection) [encodedJson] [options]

It doesn't give examples, which I think is the most important. Second, the syntax doesn't state that item has "sub types" (it's hidden in the appendix), nor does it link to https://help.bitwarden.com/article/cli/#templates

See #51 for a working example. Would be nice if there was doc for how to actually create an item without resorting to trial and error.

It's annoying that the default template is not valid JSON for the type it is supposed to be a template for.
