Core BAM modelling approach consists of the following steps (described in onomatopoetic words to follow the tradition of the BAM acronym itself):
- Aargh: data processing to create normalized long format tables by integrating various data bases and resources.
- Boink: estimate detectability (QPAD) offsets based on Aargh output.
- Clang: create a wide formatted and all-inclusive data package based on Aargh and Boink for downstream analyses.
- Dingg: model building based on Clang or some subset of it.
- Eeouw: summarizing and visualizing model output from Dingg
- Fkrsh: data processing for predicions over a prediction grid/raster by integrating various data bases and resources.
- Grrrr: visualizating predictions (maps) and calculating derives summaries of those (population size, trend, uncertainty) based on Dingg and Fkrsh.
