No Favicon

There was a day this website had a favicon, but it is not working anymore.

Fix unordered list styling

I just noticed in this awesome blogpost, ordered list items do not get numbered and they don't align with unordered lists. Ugly!

On every page this console error occurs.

Add clearer action to home page

Right now the homepage solely contains text and 4 contact links that are not very clearly marked as actions.

How about a 'contact me' button?

Split theme up into plugins + theme

It would be nice to split this theme into function and theming (plugin(s) and theme).

In this way changing theme wouldn't necessarily influence architecture (like WordPress Custom Post Type-structure).

Add an imageless header variation

Right now there are two versions of a page or article header:

1. One with an image and a hovering title
2. One with a video and a title below the video

I would like to add a third version:
3. One with no image and just a plain title

This is to enable quick blogposts with only text.

Commented compass mixins

Throughout the Sass there are multiple compass mixins uncommented. They should be refactored to pure CSS3. They can be found through the #FIXME hashtag.

The WP_CACHE line must be moved up.

WP Super Cache notifies:

WP_CACHE constant added to wp-config.php

If you continue to see this warning message please see point 5 of the Troubleshooting Guide. The WP_CACHE line must be moved up.

Meta tags for article thumbnails not working

Featured images are not properly recognized by social media, like LinkedIn / Twitter.

Remove Disqus integration

Since comments are now disabled by default and Disqus is a hefty plugin (extra scripts, external resources) with a negative performance on page load performance, it might be a good idea to get rid of it.

My suggestion is to replace it with a simple native WordPress comment structure. By doing that it's still possible to read previous comments and to enable comments if needed.

Category archive doesn't show category navigation

In the category archives the category menu is not being displayed
Example: https://bramwillemse.nl/juicyorange/

Besides that the header margin seems to be a bit smaller than the blog archive.

Add responsive images

Icons don't display in iOS Safari

The icons in the Contact Widget do not display in iOS Safari

Add "back to blog" button to blogposts

It might be nice to have a button to return to the blogposts archive. Especially on mobile devices.
On top and on bottom of an article?

Dark background creates annoying flickering on page load

When the homepage or CV page loads, the screen flickrs from dark to light, because of the dark background. The easy fix: use the same light background as you do everywhere!

Superfluous WP Emoji scripts are loaded

Get rid of them, damnit!

Originally this theme was developed using Codekit. All good, but I'd like to work with Gulp!
