I made a proposal to be to discussed in the recently uploaded markup.xsd
from bcf-xml.
This is definitely one of the most important missing features right now.
Other use cases that are common:
- An issue is closed, but another one created because the project team decided the issue will be solved in a different way (a clash is closed without solving the clash, because it is decided to change the design)
- Two issues are merged into one (two are closed, but refered to a new one with a different solution direction)
- and basically all known use cases in source code issue management systems that make this feature so logic that I strongly suggest to implement it.

I agree with berlotti. Related Topic is needed. Adding the direction or parent-child can make it easier to visualize.
I see in the markup also a TopicType in the RelatedTopic. What's that for? It should not have TopicType of the referred topic here causing superfluous info.
from bcf-xml.
Example:
A topic with type "PfV" could have several related Topics; lets say 2 Clashes and 1 Opening. A filter then could be (in words) "Get all clashes (topics) which lead to that PfV.
from bcf-xml.
I understand the related topics. But why the TopicType in the relation?
Above question can also be queried without that redundant info by looking to TopicType of referred topics.

Yes, of course !
I just removed from markup.xsd
