OCabot

IRC bot for "#OCaml" on freenode

It can be interacted with using !-prefixed commands. !help lists these.

• New factoids can be added using !foo = bar, which will cause !foo to answer bar in the future.
• !search <pat> and !search_all <pat> perform basic search among factoids.
• !help or !help <command> provide help.
• !history lists a few recent messages on #ocaml.
• !seen <nick> will report last time the given nickname was seen speaking on the channel.

ocabot's Issues

Impossible to connect to freenode if nick is in use

When trying to connect to freenode without changing the nickname (and "ocabot" is already used by the bot on #ocaml), output on console stops with "Log: got 6 commands from 3 plugins".

have `!tell` always work in query

Avoid spamming on channels; if someone is active again, deliver messages in query.

metrics on channels

• activity (number of messages / hour)
• number of connected people
• number of active people
• a way to output stats at some public URL (pastebin?!)

sample all this every 30 min or so, store it. Will need johnelse/ocaml-irc-client#25
