cake.repoversion's Issues

pull-requests can have identical versions. This breaks appveyor

Describe the bug
2 Pull requests branched from the same commit in master can produce identical versions

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create 2 branches from the same commit in master
  2. Create 2 commits on each branch
  3. Make a pull request into master for each branch

Observe that the second pull-request to build in appveyor fails because the version already exists.

Expected behavior
Each build should have a unique version with appropriate labels

Missing packages.config file

Describe the bug
The current AppVeyor Configuration file is attempting to invalidate the cache on the Build Image, based on the presence of a file called tools/packages.config. We, the Cake Team, recommend adding this file to source control to lock to a specific version of Cake for doing the build. Looks like this file hasn't been added to this repository.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run Build on AppVeyor, and you will see this:

image

Expected behavior
There shouldn't be an error in the output

Exception when calculating version

Describe the bug
RepoVersion alias returns The Process object must have the UseShellExecute property set to false in order to redirect IO streams

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Reference Cake.RepoVersion 0.2.7.1
  2. Run build
  3. Observe exception

Expected behavior
Should calculate the version

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux (debian)
  • Cake.RepoVersion: 0.2.7.1
  • repo-version Version: NA
