Forgot to mention that if we change the repo name, we'll need to update any URLs in the paper that reference it.

I think a different name would be good. How about:
Taxonomy Assignment Evaluator
Amplicon Sequence Taxonomy Evaluator (ARTE)
Amplicon Sequence Taxonomy Assignment Evaluator (ARTE)
Short Sequence Taxonomy EvaluatoR (SiSTER) couldn't resist this one, for the acronym of course, generated by acronymcreator.net

👍 for SiSTER
We'll have to make sure that the current repo URL doesn't go away, since the paper references https://github.com/gregcaporaso/short-read-tax-assignment/. Or would we be able to change the URLs in the paper before final publication?

I also like SiSTER!
I don't think changing the URL before publication should be an issue...

Changing before publication will be fine.
I was joking about SiSTER - I don't think we would really want to use that since the "family relationships" theme for software names is already in use in our field...

Good point... that's part of the appeal, though!
Since we have time on this and the paper is already in, we can just keep brainstorming.
