digitaloceanvpnsetup's Issues

How to setup?

Hey, Thanks for the setup. I created a droplet using that, and got a config file, what do I do next? I'm on a mac if that helps.

Doesn't seem to be Team Aware

I authorized it to use my DO account and granted it access to my account and to a team. This doesn't offer to choose a team/account to install to and notably it failed during setup.

Server password?

Hello @carlfriess Awesome project, allowed me to setup a vpn droplet really quick! Just one question though, I want to be able to have root access to my droplet via SSH but I don't have my password? It doesn't accept the VPN password (naturally?) So how can I access to this droplet via ssh or ftp? Thanks!

authentication failed

i have built the digitalocean VPN server successfully, however I can't connect to VPN from my mac.

here is the VPN information and error,
screen shot 2017-10-11 at 13 51 36

when I opened the config.networkConnect, the shared secret is D8MFe77bsdLg+EhF4Bxgh/S+oNT8aAfM instead of IPspec key shown above, what is wrong ?

how could i fix it ?

Use the new Droplet pricing

The new pricing introduced in 2018 includes a $5 Droplet with 1 GB of RAM. This config currently uses the 512 MB Droplet class that I assume exists on the DigitalOcean API for legacy reasons, but costs the same as a 1 GB Droplet.

any ubuntu based client to connect?

I have built the VPN successfully on the digitalocean, my MAC and iphone works in the VPN. However i just wonder is there any ubuntu based client can connect to the VPN as well, do you have any idea?

Setup issue for poor w*ndows users

I'm a w*ndows user for work related issues and created an droplet on DO thanks to you. Since yesterday, I managed to do all things I could'do: create the droplet, update tools, setup a VNC for management next to SSH etc.

Everything seems ok on the server side but I couldn't manage to connect to the VPN from my W*ndows 10 PC and Android phone. I tried to check if ipsec and other services are working and it seems to be running healthily. Since there seems to be no problem around, I couldn't connect to/through the VPN.

I checked the ipsec repo and tried possible solutions for W*ndows troubleshooting: still no connection. I'm pretty sure it's a simple thing for linux users to troubleshoot these things but for me, it's like I'm working on a Chinese console app while using Latin keyboard.
