Catppuccin

Catppuccin is a community-driven pastel theme that aims to be the middle ground between low and high contrast themes. It consists of 4 soothing warm flavors with 26 eye-candy colors each, perfect for coding, designing, and much more! In addition, this repository tracks the development of the actual color palette, the project's documentation, organization-wide assets, resources and code samples for maintainers/developers.

🧠 Design Philosophy

  • Colorful is better than colorless: the colorfulness of something contributes to the distinction amongst the parts of that something, making it marginally easier to understand how things are structured.
  • There should be balance: not too dull, not too bright. Suitability under various light conditions is a must.
  • Harmony is superior to dissonance: vivacious colors must complement each other.

🎨 Palette

Catppuccin consists of 4 beautiful pastel color palettes, named flavors. All the details can be found below.
If you want to use them for your own project, refer to our style guide for general use cases and guidelines. Additionally, you can find integrations with popular frameworks and tools in catppuccin/palette.

Already have a project making use of our palette? Don't forget to add it to our showcase section below!

Split Out & Reword `CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md`

Context

The current Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.0. However, as the project and community has continued to grow and blossom, @catppuccin/staff and the @catppuccin/core team have found it increasingly difficult to enforce the code of conduct as it stands.

Unfortunately, we have had to recently ban someone from participating in the Discord community that was also a maintainer of one of the repositories in our GitHub organisation. Naturally, this raises some questions:

  • Are they still able to contribute by raising Issues / Pull Requests on GitHub? (We currently don't check someone's background for current contributions)
  • If someone is barred from contributing to the GitHub organisation, should they be banned from joining and participating in the Discord community?
  • What's required for someone to be allowed back into the Discord and/or allowed back as a maintainer?

It is apparent that we need some sort of separation between GitHub & Discord as they are different communication platforms with entirely different purposes. We believe that it is unfeasible and outright impossible sometimes to "check" the background of GitHub contributors and maintainers to ensure that they are aligned with the current Code of Conduct.

As a result, we have decided to move away from the Contributor Covenant and split out the current document so that GitHub & Discord are not treated the same.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Code of Conduct is reworded to move away from the Contributor Covenant and the language is simplified without sacrificing clarity.
  • Split the Code of Conduct for GitHub & Discord respectively.

Add `GOVERNANCE.md`

A GOVERNANCE file lets people know about how your project is governed. For example, it might discuss project roles and how decisions are made.

- Supported file types - GitHub

The community page on the newly merged website contains information on the teams leading Catppuccin. It feels like the GOVERNANCE file is the ideal place for that information.

To make this information machine readable, I'll probably opt for a similar workflow to catppuccin/catppuccin where I'll store the team information in a yaml file, validated by a simple schema and generate the markdown file. This will allow the website to retrieve leadership information similar to the ports/userstyles.

Buggy rounded corners on widgets

Hello, first thanks and congratulations for maintaining this awesome theme. I'm having a minor issue with the corners of GTK apps, which didn't happened with other themes that I tried (no one had rounded corners on widgets). I tried with and without composition, and it keeps like that.

I'm running Arch Linux and I've installed the theme via the AUR package. I'm currently running the DWM window manager with Picom compositor and the default settings. Both gtk-engine-murrine and gnome-themes-extra are installed.
