catppuccin's Introduction

Logo
Catppuccin

Catppuccin is a community-driven pastel theme that aims to be the middle ground between low and high contrast themes. It consists of 4 soothing warm flavors with 26 eye-candy colors each, perfect for coding, designing, and much more! In addition, this repository tracks the development of the actual color palette, the project's documentation, organization-wide assets, resources and code samples for maintainers/developers.

🧠 Design Philosophy

  • Colorful is better than colorless: the colorfulness of something contributes to the distinction amongst the parts of that something, making it marginally easier to understand how things are structured.
  • There should be balance: not too dull, not too bright. Suitability under various light conditions is a must.
  • Harmony is superior to dissonance: vivacious colors must complement each other.

🎨 Palette

Catppuccin consists of 4 beautiful pastel color palettes, named flavors. All the details can be found below.
If you want to use them for your own project, refer to our style guide for general use cases and guidelines. Additionally, you can find integrations with popular frameworks and tools in catppuccin/palette.

Already have a project making use of our palette? Don't forget to add it to our showcase section below!

Foot colorscheme

Hi, I'm a user of the foot terminal emulator and I created the colorscheme in foot.ini format. I didn't want to create a pull request since it seems you like to use separate repositories for these kinds of integrations

Vimium

Are you available to help in the creation of this port? 😄 (optional)
Yes

I'm not sure if I did it correctly but I created theme for Vimium, feel free to add it to Catppuccin repo if it is OK, for now I have created repo in my GitHub: https://github.com/elkrien/catppuccin-vimium

Vim

I'm aware that a neovim theme exists and it is written in Lua. Sadly it doesn't work well with vim8 or older neovim versions (like the one in Debian) . It would be awesome to enjoy this beautiful palette in oldie editors 😄

I'm no expert on vimscript but if I can help maintainers in any way, please let me know! Id be glad to :)

Emacs

An Emacs port would be very cool to have and I am down to help!

Screenshot Unification

I've just been clicking through a couple repos on the org. I've noticed this in the past, but this time it really struck me: The screenshots are all over the place.

I think it would be nice to somehow unify how they look. Go for one specific style that should be followed by all ports. This would make the overall experience way more coherent. c:
Once an idea is established it would probably smart to offer some sort of tool that would create a preview image from minimal user input to make this easier for port maintainers?

Another thing that kinda goes hand in hand with that – please set social media images for the repos. :D

Wezterm

I'm currently using wezterm, so I made this port. Hope it can help others.

Monkeytype.com

M O N K E H 🐒

Are you available to help in the creation of this port?
Absolutely! ♡

Additional context

Monkeytype is a minimalistic typing test, featuring many test modes, an account system to save your typing speed history and user configurable features like themes, a smooth caret and more.

This really is just a super small thing, I've just been typing away and thought to myself "Huh, might be cool to have this in Catppuccin colours". I'm not even sure if it would get approved, as it requires a theme not to be similar to any of the existing ones.. and there are a lot, so there might be a conflict already?

Telegram

Hi, guys!

Thanks for all the work!
Wanted to share a quick Telegram MacOS port I've done (should work fine for bubble and minimal): https://t.me/addtheme/catppuccin_tmp
It is ugly, and off-putting, and this is the first theme I've ever done, sorry, please make it better if you know how
Maybe it will save somebody a couple of minutes of porting it...

PhpStorm

I would love to use this as a theme for PhpStorm

❤️ ❤️

Thx!!!

Are you available to help in the creation of this port? 😄 (optional)
Yes, but I'm pretty new to the github world so it's still a bit difficult for me to understand how to do things properly and find my way around ^^
