Tab bar config?

Is the tab bar in the screenshots just for showcasing? If not, could they please be shared?

[Discussion] Should the title bar color be set to the background color?

I'm wondering if the default for the value of the macos_titlebar_color (and wayland_titlebar_color) should be set to the primary background color of the theme. This way, you get a uniform look for your entire Kitty window.

Default:

Background color:

I'm happy to toss a PR in with the changes, but I figure someone would have proposed this before and maybe there's a reason why it's not the default.

Why ft=kitty?

Hi, I tried looking through your configuration for kitty and I noticed that my syntax highlighting (comments being greyed out for example) is not present in specifically and only the files in this repo. Any other kitty configuration files I have or have seen don't have this issue.

I tracked it down and it turned out to be the modeline:

# vim:ft=kitty

This didn't trigger the builtin vim.filetype match anymore on *.conf files in my Neovim, because the file type was overridden by it.

A quick side-by-side:

With :set ft=kitty:
without the modeline, comment are not greyed out as they would

_With :set ft=conf:
with the modeline, greying out comments and color codes because of the # syntax for both colors and comments

This does sadly highlight color codes incorrectly, however not having any highlighting at all is kind of intrusive, and because of this my question is: Why did you choose to add a modeline for an unknown filetype?

Move the theme files into a themes directory.

Hi and thanks for all your work in creating this theme. I was just wondering if it would be possible to move the actual theme files from the root of this project and into a themes directory. That would make it easier to fetch them using scripts. If this is the only theme you use you could curl that directory to ~/.config/kitty/themes. If you want to stay up to date with the remote you could clone this repository and symlink all the files from themes into ~/.config/kitty/themes. This is of course possible with the current structure too - but having them in a specific folder would make more convenient.

Kitty already provides Catppuccin themes out of the box

Kitty already provides 281 themes out of the box, including the 4 Catppuccin themes.

I think it's important to note this in the README, otherwise people will unnecessarily install duplicate themes (as I did).

As far as I'm aware this does not apply to the 'diff' configs.
