  1. Copy your favorite flavor(s) from themes/ folder to /usr/share/plymouth/themes/.
  2. Set your default Plymouth theme with sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R catppuccin-<flavor>.

plymouth-set-default-theme not available on Linux Mint

In version 21.1 of Linux Mint, there is no such command as plymouth-set-default-theme, so applying this theme is not possible using the provided steps. Would be nice if the readme was updated with steps for Linux Mint.
