Enterprise Data Exchange (DEX) is a new cloud-native centralized data ingestion, validation, and observation service scoped for common data types (HL7, FHIR, CDA, XML, CSV) sent to the CDC. It helps public health stakeholders who send data to the CDC while reducing the maintenance efforts, complexity, and duplication of ingestion points to CDC.

This project brings an enterprise wide solution for Data transport and validation to all CDC centers and divisions.

DEX is comprised of several modules or components in multiple repositories:

SET-NET Ingest Data from SAMS Portal as XML files

Create a traceability matrix between features and portal implementations

Enterprise Data Exchange (DEX) will likely be developing a portal, starting with views for STLT data submitter and CDC Program data consumer personas.

CDC has dozens of portals, with overlapping functionality.

Survey a representative sample of the portals and create a matrix of features x portal implementations.

Such a matrix has a few uses...

• Communicating the similarities and differences of a the DEX portal against existing CDC portals
• Triaging must support vs nice to have features for the DEX portal
