brackets-dash's Introduction

Brackets-Dash

A simple Dash integration plugin for Brackets. Requires Dash and OSX to work. It is driven by the current selection and hard-coded to use CMD+SHIFT+K for the key combo. I may add support for sniffing the current file type so it can better filter the results.

Note - the version is a bit weird since I accidentally pushed to the Registry with 2.0.2. So 2.1 is the current, but it's really more of a 1.1 release. No prob, right?

brackets-dash's Issues

How to install it ??

This project seems cool but I have no clue how to install this, could you give some information in your readme please ?
thanks.

Call Dash without activating it

Brackets-Dash calls Dash by opening a dash:// URL. The problem is that the system forces Dash to become active when this URL is opened.

Currently, this is not an issue. However, a future update of Dash will add support for iOS remotes. While an iOS remote is connected, extensions are redirected to it directly and Dash on OS X is not shown at all. Unfortunately there's no way for me to prevent the system from activating Dash when you open the dash:// URL.

Instead of doing this:

open dash://query

Can you do this?

open -g dash://query

The -g causes Dash to not get activated if it does not want to and the user experience is a lot better as the active app does not lose focus anymore.

It is safe to make this change as soon as possible (no need to wait for a Dash update), as the current version of Dash already knows to activate itself if it needs to.

Support for the brackets v1,7?

my Brackets version is Release 1.7 build 1.7.0-16898 (release b0a363b71)

And when i had installed the extension, nothing happened with my editor, how can i use it?

cmd/ctrl + shift + K ?

Why not "extend" the Quick Docs keyboard shortcut (cmd/ctrl + K) by using (cmd/ctrl + shift + K)? This might be easier to remember.
