@JustinBack, I'm not sure about the best approach here. This is a deliberate decision. We don't have a unique identifier for the email to prevent duplication, other than the Message ID. The Sequence ID isn't unique and can change if the mailbox undergoes modifications (like archiving or deleting a message). This leaves us with the Message-ID. I believe Google also discards emails without a message-id. Even though it's optional, most mail servers add a message-id.

Hmm we use postfix, the issue being forcing missing headers with always_add_missing_headers = yes will break DKIM one way or another. (https://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#always_add_missing_headers) so we can't really force adding a header post-signed.
