Approval Mechanisms

It isn't clear how changes / implementation will be approved. Does the entire community vote? Only the moderators? Only Ronn Ross?

Is this intended to be a democratic process?

Pull the Citizen Code of Conduct in a markdown file

If the Citizen Code of Conduct is an integral part of the Code of Conduct it should be in this repo for review by the community.

Moderator Action Log

We should log moderation actions in a way that doesn't give away too much unwanted detailed.

A simple MD file with "Person X was banned on DATE" would be fine I think.

This will give transparency to moderator actions.

Room closures or other large scale actions should be logged as well but with more detail.

Moderator Removal

Will a mechanism exist to remove moderators? We've discussed this on Slack and came up with the idea of a voting app tied to Github logins.

If you want to be thorough, should call out use of multiple slack accounts

if a person was dead set on harassment they could easily create a throw away account for doing their dirty work without fear of repercussions.

scenario: account a and account b are arguing. account a creates account c to harass.

result: mods ban account c, but account a survives unscathed.

I assume mods/owners have access to tools that can give some indication that one account might be the same as another. but even if not, I would think that there's is no legitimate reason to have multiple accounts other than harassment with no consequences. it falls under unacceptable behavior.

Appealing Moderator Action

If one feels they have been unfairly removed from the Slack, how do they contact a moderator to appeal the decision?
