Introduction

ClassicUO is an open source implementation of the Ultima Online Classic Client. This client is intended to emulate all standard client versions and is primarily tested against Ultima Online free shards.

The client is currently under heavy development but is functional. The code is based on the FNA-XNA framework. C# is chosen because there is a large community of developers working on Ultima Online server emulators in C#, because FNA-XNA exists and seems reasonably suitable for creating this type of game.

ClassicUO is natively cross platform and supports:

🐛 [BUG] - Background glitch

Description

When you set the light level to 30 and go inside a cave the black background disappear and you see the grey background texture from the ClassicUO web.

🚀 [FEATURE REQUEST] - Progress indicator when accessing for the first time

When selecting a server for the first time, I have no idea what's happening—I just see a shard logo without any progress indication. Are the files downloading? Is it frozen?

A progress indicator would be very useful at reducing abandonment.

I would like to put my server into the pool of servers for the CLassicUO Web Browser Client. This is such a fantastic accomplishment and with it bringing a whole new way for people to enjoy UO!

We cater to the PvE crowd on Modern UO and new players so the web interface would truly be a GOD send. I believe between the other servers out there like Forever and Outlands, we are the third or 4th largest in the PvE category 🙂 Anyway, hope to get accepted as this really plays well for our player base and being a part of this is monumental!

Truly innovative what you all are doing for UO. Imagine they thought this game was only going to be a 6 month ordeal and here we are!

🐛 [BUG] - Inceptum. Can't connect

Description

It was possible to login until yesterday evening. Now client stucks on "Logging into Shard" window. I've tried to wait couple of hours, but it didn't login either.

🐛 [BUG] - <"Bad request, invalid token: empty"> on login attempt

Description

I'm unable to get past the https://play.classicuo.org/ screen. I click on "log in with Discord," successfully log into discord on the popup window, then get the "Bad request, invalid token: empty" error message.
This has happened on both Windows 11 and ChromeOS. Yesterday, I was able to login and play on my Chromebook. When I tried on my Windows computer, I got this error message, but was able to login about two hours later. I'm trying to log in on the Chromebook again and am now getting the "Bad request, invalid token: empty" even though I was able to log in yesterday.

EDIT - Side note: I have tried de-authorizing and reauthorizing the account. I log in with the email and password, but when I get to the part where I click to authorize, it goes back to the "Bad request" message.

EDIT 2 - I cleared the site data and tried to log in again. It worked, but when I closed the window and tried to log in again, it went straight back to the "Bad request" message

UOLostlands client loads up 7.0.95.0, server client is 5.0.8.3

This would give us some issues with some parts of our code where we have checks for client versions. Allowing this to be either configurable or using 5.0.8.3

🐛 [BUG] - Web Client freezing on last download file

Description

So, it gets to 231/232 of files downloading it just freezes up downloading.

Reproduction steps

1. click any shard for normal client or even a patched shard.
2. watch as client downloads and last file seems to freeze up from time to time so I have to clears storage and start again.

When we connect from the normal ClassicUO client, there is a ping value of 20-30, while when we connect over the web, we get a ping between 130-160.

Hey, I'm happy to see Velociraptor's docs theme used elsewhere!

Could you please update the Discord invite link and Google Analytics tracking ID though? They're still pointing to vr's instances so our tracking data is being mixed with yours and disoriented Discord users are coming to our server 😄

🐛 [BUG] - Copy/Paste Text

Description

I am unable to copy any text from outside the web client and paste it in game. It will allow me to copy/paste text already in game, however, it won't accept outside sources of text and it does not copy to outside either.

Examples:
Copy text command from Discord - Cannot paste in game.
Copy text command in game - Cannot paste in Discord.
Copy text command in game - Can paste in game.
Copied text in game remains in the in-game clipboard even after copying text from Discord and vice versa.
Basically the web client only accepts text that is copied from the client and does not carry over to other applications or allow use of your PC's clipboard.

Reproduction steps

1. Highlight the chosen text you wish to copy/paste and press [Ctrl + C].
2. Paste the copied text by pressing [Ctrl + V}.
3. Do this for CUO Web and another application.
4. Notice it will not accept outside text that is copied or carry in-game copied text to another application outside of the web client.

🐛 [BUG] - <minimize and expand the window, strange mouse behavior>

Description

Something strange happens on the big screen (maybe it should be) if you open the window to the full screen, the arrow is guided by the old coordinates, more precisely, it goes crazy :), you return everything normally again .... you can watch the video and photos in my "BagCase"

🐛 [BUG] - getDirectory() is not a function

Description

When accessing play.classicuo.org I can't join a server. I'm assuming that the described error is what prevents me from joining a server.

🐛 [BUG] - Intermittent issue freezing when choosing shard in retail

Description

Every once in a while I experience a freeze when choosing "Atlantic" shard on retail server. Seems to be a websocket connection error. Attached is a screenshot from the console.

Reproduction steps

1. Go to https://play.classicuo.org/
2. Click on 'Play Now' for Ultima Online Retail
3. Scroll down to 'Atlantic' (only one I've tested with)
4. Once in a while experience a freeze with a websocket connection error in the console

Can't connect to shard🐛 [BUG] - <title>

Description

I have tried the official UO shard. After verification of the account it shows available locations to join like Oceania, Sakura, etc. and stucks on proceeding showing the message Logging into Shard.

Also I have tried to log into UOG: Demise, the verification of the account does not happen, there is and error There is some problem communicating with Origin. Please restart Ultima Online and try again

🐛 [BUG] - Wearable Items Visual Bugs on UOG: Hybrid Server

Description

The Gargoyle Horns create a spider on your character when worn and the Ankh Necklace creates an elven chest of some type on your character as well. This occurs when both mounted or on foot. This might be an issue with the server files while using the web version, however this does not occur on CUO Desktop version 0.1.10.261 using client patch 7.0.96.10. Included screenshots for CUO Web and one while on CUO Desktop to show no visual bug.

1-A. Open Paper Doll.
2-A. On a staff character enter the command "[self set hairitemid 41402" for the horns/spider bug.
3-A. Notice the spider body appear on your in game character.

1-B. Open Paper Doll.
2-B. On a staff character enter the command "[self addtopack ankhnecklace" for the Ankh Necklace/Elven chest bug.
3-B. Equip the necklace and notice the elven chest that is always facing the down direction on your character.

Description

Invalid client detected

PlayUO/KUOC and old OSI clients are not allowed at this server

You must use an OSI client version 4.0.0 or later. To patch your OSI client automatically run the 'UOPatch.exe' program which can be found in your UO install folder.

Once you have patched your client, log in again.

Reproduction steps

1. Log in and spend some time logged in, e.g. 1-2 hours

🐛 [UOG: Hybrid Invalid Client]

Description

As a user I am receiving a popup letting me know that my client version is incorrect and am disconnected from the UOG:Hybrid server. At times this happens nearly immediately, other times it can take 10+ minutes. It always takes place though.

When click "Log Out" on the player gump, then log back in, I am often able to play a bit longer before the error occurs again. This is very inconsistent and I am not able to determine the impact of clicking "log out" as being significant.

You guys are doing God's work. <3. Web client looks DOPE so far.

Right now my server is under private alpha, so its not Open Account. It can still be listed, but only those with access to it can actually log in, if that's cool with you guys. They have to have an account created by me first. This is only temporary though.
