desktop's Issues

Run on startup opens the main window instead of being run in hidden mode

This is not really an improvement suggestion. Just reporting that the --process-start-args "--hidden" switch does not work for me and the application launches is normal window mode rather than stashed in system tray.

Unable to log in Windows desktop app

Hi,

I encouter some issues on logging in desktop Windows (2.6.6) app.

I firstly tried to log with a Google Account and had this error screen :

Then, trying to log in with a mobile number, passing the vérification code, then has a blank log window.

Is there something to do to make it works ?

feature req: give the option to disable a certain shortcut

there is no way to disable a certain shortcut
if I don't need a shortcut, why I have to assign it to a key. doesn't make any sense.
by default, if I wanna go to command palette on my vscode ctrl + shift + p, clipto always catching this. So when I wanted to disable it, OMG there are no options.

mishandled duplicates - clips with the exact same text are not saved

If you have a clip in one tag, then try to create a new clip with the exact same text in a new tag, it will not save the new tag.

I have noticed many times that the copied text was always in rich text after a "paste" in an application.

1 / from the internet browser, or another application, I copy rich text.

2 / if I do not open Clipto to select the text again (which is already enabled for "paste")
3/ pasted text is not in raw format (not removes rich formatting from text)

there should be an option to automatically removes rich formatting from text.

and another option, with a keyboard shortcut to paste text into unformatted raw text.

settings icon bug - when the window is maximized the settings icon is slightly hidden

When using the desktop application, and the window is maximized, the settings gear icon is slightly hidden.

for PC app will be great an option to Pin or Block window to Float at the top of others so will be easy to copy things in other windows

feature request - remove shortcut, not only change the shortcut

Currently it is only possible to change the shortcut, but not to remove or to dactivate. I have some issue with clipto-pro grabbing shortcuts which are standard in other programs, for example in Azure data Studio, Visual Code. I don't want to assign another shortcut but it should be possible to delete or to deactivate some specific shortcuts.

Clipto occupy the shortcut, please add toggle to the shortcut.

clipto has some shortcut conflict with vs-code on my mac.
'cmd + shirt + p' to show all commands on vscode.
please add a toggle function for the clipto shortcut.

Bug Report: Clipboard won't sync from Windows PC to Android, only other way around

I'm able to use Universal sync to copy clipboard from Android to Windows 10 PC, but not the other way around. The copied text shows up in the notes section on both the Android and the PC, but the clipboard does not change.

I'm running a OnePlus 3T on Android 9.

The taskbar icon is hard to recognize, and I don't appreciate the 'white bar' in dark mode too.

Feature Request: Quick actions in Notification

It would be really handy to have a few quick actions like 'share', 'open link', etc. in the notification itself. Otherwise, everytime it is needed to open the app to perform routine tasks.

feature request: a quick way to get the content of the latest note as plain text

Currently I use "Ditto" when I need quickly extract the clipboard content as plain text:

• Ctrl-Ö to get the Ditto-Window
• Shift-Enter to get the content of the last note as plain text and to past it at the current cursor position in the current program.

Mabe you could implement something similair?
The first step is already working: Ctrl-Shift-E will open the clipto-pro Window
only the second step is missing :-)

secondary quick interface

It would be nice to have a secondary interface that is more efficient with faster functionality and less clicks. I would add an option to the list that appears when you right-click the taskbar icon. The new option would appear below "track clipboard" and would be checkable like two options that are currently there. The new option would be "quick interface". When this option is activated it would change the function of the left-click. Currently when you left-click the taskbar icon it opens the standard Clipto interface. This new option would change the left-click action so that it opens a "quick interface" which would be a smaller window at the bottom right of the screen which just lists the clips without all the other icons or options in the standard interface. When clicking the clips on this quick interface, the clip would copy and paste, all at once, with one click, instead of just copying like the standard interface. I would also allow clips to be highlighted using the keyboard up and down arrows and allow switching between tags with the keyboard left and right arrows. I would also allow clips to be selected using both the mouse click and the keyboard enter key.

I am not sure, but this may be similar to what atrashler was trying to accomplish with his suggestion here:

Notes auto-delete (enhancement)

Add a features to automatically delete notes after a while (hours, days, week) except the favorites

Since a lot of notes are created from the clipboard and some sensitive data eventually ends there (password, bank account, your mum's new phone number,...), regular deletion seems a good practice.

Small UI issues in web app

Hello,

First of all: thanks for a great app!

I have come across two (very) small UI issues in the web app:

1. In Chrome I sometimes see a white rectangle on the bottom part of the right hand panel. This happens when the browser is maximized (and sometimes when it is not). I do not observe the same behavior in Edge.
2. When in editing mode there is a vertical navigation bar that appears on the right even if the note is very small (and there should therefore be no vertical navigation required). This happens in both Chrome and Edge.

1/ I installed Clipto v1.4.0 (updated version 1.3.0)
2/ at startup, the software informs me that I am not at the latest version and offers me to download v1.3.0
3/ apparently the user data has been deleted because I had to re-enter my login details (to activate my account and be able to synchronize) +
also my settings have been lost: select again the language, theme, ...

clipto causing laptop to freeze and crash

I have two laptops both with Clipto Pro installed. Clipto has worked great on both laptops for some time now but recently I installed version 1.3.0 on both laptops and now Clipto is causing one laptop to move very slow, freeze, and crash repeatedly. At first I did not have any reason to think it was Clipto causing the problem. I cleared the cache and cookies from the browsers, preformed a Windows disk cleanup, disabled all the startup applications, and defragmented the hard drive. After disabling all startup applications and restarting the laptop, it began to function normally again. After defragmenting and restarting again, the first program I turned on was Clipto, and I could tell immediately the computer was slowing again and Clipto took a very long time to open and the laptop was so slow I could not do anything until Clipto opened. I closed Clipto and restarted again and the laptop began working normally again. I re-enabled all the startup applications but I left Clipto off and the laptop is working fine so the problem seems to only happen with Clipto active. My other laptop has Clipto active and is still working fine so it's only a problem on the one laptop. The laptop having the issue is an Asus Laptop model Q302L-BBI5T14 with Windows 10 Home,

Enhancement: Windows PC Hotkey / Shortcuts

In the past i used ditto.

There it was able to open the list of the clipboard with a shortcut (in this case, maybe open the program or you can create also a list from where you can insert).

It was also possible to insert the clipboard as plain text with a shortcut (leave the clipboard untouched).

Please add these 2 shortcuts (and maybe more) with the setting to edit these shortcuts.

Display Windows control buttons in the right corner for Windows app

I think the app will be easier to use if you move the window control buttons to the "classic" top right corner - this way those who are on Windows will not have to go through the cognitive discomfort of looking for controls at the unusual location

No note created in Win10 after copying a text (but I can paste it and see it on the Android app)

It's a bit weird and I'm still wondering if it's related to a mistake on my side or something wrong between apps. Just to let you know.

Here is the thing :

I can copy any text from anywhere on Win10, I can see it in the CliptoPro app on Android and paste it anywhere on both devices.
But when I open the Win10 app... the text doesn't appears at all in the note list (no note created).

In short : the clipboard syncs perfectly, but the text doesn't show up on the Win10 app

Any clue ?

(FYI I checked settings on both sides... I found nothing that could be an obvious mistake on my side)

settings scrolling bug - when viewing the settings applet, the scroll bar grows continuously and you start to lose access to the bottom of the settings

When I click the settings gear icon on the desktop application, the settings applet window scroll bar starts to grow in size and grows continuously, and meanwhile the bottom of the applet window slowly starts to become less and less accessible until you are unable to see the bottom portion of the settings applet.

feature request: option to to start the app with windows

an option to start the app automaticaly when Windows will start

problem while writing a note (at the end and after the visible writing area)

When I write a note and I'm at the end of the editing window, so at the very bottom, I can continue writing but the cursor hides and I always come back up (the last written texts are no longer visible).
The Clipto window is not in full screen. (it is resized)

1/ CTRL+3 for the display mode
2/ I write a new note, on the visible writing area, there is no problem
3/ when I get to the end of the visible writing area, when I'm still writing, there's the window that goes up hiding the last line
4/ When I go down, I start writing again and I always come back up.
5/ I am obliged to enlarge the window otherwise I do not see what I write

Suggestion of Chrome Extension of Clipto Pro

Hello! Currently Clipto Pro is blocked by the Firewall of China. Thus we need to use VPN to have access to Clipto Pro. For instance, I have a VPN in my chrome, but it only take effects in my browser. So that if you can kindly design a chrome extension for Clipto Pro, it will be great help. There is an application named “Clip Cloud”, which only has Android application and chrome extension. It can sync the clipboard through Android and Windows, even if Chrome is not running. Maybe you can check this application. Thanks!

3. the application is reduced
4. when I "paste", all copies are pasted

another option to merge notes/copies would also be useful as in the Android version.

Installer does not replace previous version.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of clipto when it notified me in the app that there was an update to download. After installing it I noticed that it was not working correctly at all, which is when I noticed that I had 3 version of clipto installed and 2 of them were currently running at the same time.

Every other installer I have ever used would always replace the previous version with the new version.

I always used the default install directory, and when I look inside it looks like there is only one version installed but when I view my installed programs it was showing 3 different versions.

I had already uninstalled one of them before I thought about letting you know about this but here is a screenshot showing that I currently have 2 versions installed...

I'm going to uninstall all of them and start fresh. I'm guessing that will fix my issue but please make it easier to update to the new versions.

It should be offering to use other 2FA methods since security keys don't work with Electron or CEF.

Installation location - give users the freedom of choosing where to install the app and where the data will be stored. Right now the installation location is in the user profile and it is not ideal for users who frequently re-image the OS partition (testing software and thus borking the system, etc.) - this way users may be losing data. I however moved the whole directory to another drive and made a symlink and it works.

Feature Request: AES Encryption for User Data

I totally love the way Clipto works, but I copy sensitive data many, many times on my phone and my computer that I would never want out in the open for anyone to see. Could you add encryption to the transfer process so not just anyone on my Wi-fi network can see exactly what I'm copying?

on your website you have screenshots about changelog. So it looks like the changelog exists. But where to find it?
Maybe you have some public notes and could share via Clipto Pro?

Getting notification about the `new clip` on sender device

I have 3 devices:
A B C
If I copy from device A other two devices (B & C) should get notified about the new clip. Right?
Sender device (A) should not get notified. But every time I copy something, oftentimes it's giving me a notification about this new clip.

Notification theme

Only the default notification gets themed according to the changes in system wide theme. But the control themes remain white even if I apply dark theme to the phone. It would be nice to see it changed.

Clipto Pro not working, also after reinstall

Clipto Pro is not working correct. Clips are at 0 and not saved. The login also not working (it returns after i put my E-Mail and passwort, but still see "Sign In").

Reinstall don't help.

What can i do?

Does Clipto Pro requires some dependencies to be installed (like .net for example)?

new tags are not added to the search area

when I assign new tags then they are listed on the left but they are not added to the search area. I need to quit clipto-pro, and they will be listed.

I can't find an easy way to multi select items and tag them. The only way I see is to edit each item separately and add tags.
The only way I found is to use the universal clipboard, to bring items to android and to tag them in the android app.
