MongoSessionStore

Description

This is a fork of the DataMapper session store, modified to work with MongoMapper and Mongoid.

Installation

gem install mongo_session_store

Usage with MongoMapper

In config/environment.rb:

config.gem "mongo_mapper"
config.gem "mongo_session_store"

In the session_store initializer:

require "mongo_session_store/mongo_mapper"
ActionController::Base.session_store = :mongo_mapper_store

Usage with Mongoid

In config/environment.rb:

config.gem "mongoid"
config.gem "mongo_session_store"

In the session_store initializer:

require "mongo_session_store/mongoid"
ActionController::Base.session_store = :mongoid_store

mongo_session_store's Issues

startup race

persistence.rb:22:in `database': uninitialized class variable @@database_name in MongoMapper::Connection (NameError)

Seems to be caused by a race in Rails startup - mongo_session_store is getting loaded before @@database_name is set, and the ensure_index call causes eager database operations.

There's a fix in http://github.com/nmerouze/mongo_session_store, checkin f53715e

#destroy needs to be implemented in Rails 3

I get an exception using this gem with mongoid on Rails 3

Can see why
