hpc_beginning_workshop's Introduction

Getting Started with the Research Computing Clusters

About

This guide presents an overview of using the HPC systems at Princeton. Specifically, it explains how to use Nobel, Adroit, Perseus, Della, Tiger and Traverse. The visualization machine and storage system are also covered.

Prerequisites

This workshop assumes that you have some knowledge of Linux and the Bash command line. To learn these skills see this guide.

In particular, you should be able to edit basic files on Adroit. A simple text editor for this purpose found on almost all Linux systems is nano.

Getting Help

If you encounter any difficulties with getting started on the HPC clusters then please send an email to [email protected] or attend a help session.

Authorship

This guide was created by Ben Hicks. It has been extended and modified by Jonathan Halverson and Gabe Perez-Giz.
