This is a plugin that adds the ability to toggle on and off vim into obsidian with a nice notice to let you know when you switched.

vim-toggle's Issues

Cannot download from Community plug ins or manual

Hey, thanks for creating the plug in. I ran into the same issue when using canvas.

Unfortunately, it cannot be downloaded from community plug ins and manual installs also fail for me right now. It says that the main.js is missing from the latest release.

I would love to have a toggle for mobile. When I'm working with my iPad half the time I have a keyboard plugged in (so I'm using vim) and the other half I'm sitting on a couch or something using the stylus, and vim really doesn't work in that situation. Would really like a streamlined way to switch back and forth as needed -- so I'm looking forward to this becoming a community plugin.

Hooks for toggling

Hi! I love this plugin. I was wondering if it might be possible to put hooks in for toggling. This might be something that could be made generic, but the one hook that I think I would really benefit from would be to auto-toggle to make sure I'm not in vim mode when I add a card to a Canvas.

It might be sufficient to be able to do this just when file-open is triggered and the new file is a canvas -- have it drop back from vim mode then. This could be stuck behind a toggle setting.

This may be out of scope for this plugin, but it also seems like the best place for it. Would you be open to a PR implementing it?

adding a toggle button

Thanks for putting this plugin together. It would be great to also have a "button" somewhere in the interface that would allow one do quickly toggle the vim mode on/off with a mouse (as opposed to just a keyboard shortcut).
thanks!

Adding key bindings for exiting insert mode and ...

it would be awesome to have a key binding for exiting the insert mode to normal mode and also view mode to normal mode

I'll use jk for that myself but many may use jj key to exit insert mode

thanks for the awesome plugin ๐Ÿ’Ž
