Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass noch alte Sprachdateien vorhanden sind, die mit der Version 3 nicht funktionieren. Siehe auch hier:

Am besten Du ersetzt den Ordner plugins/tinyMCE komplett.

Hallo Leo,
danke für den Tipp. Einmal den Ordner "plugins/tinyMCE" komplett gelöscht und aus der 2.6 neu auf den Server kopiert - das war´s
?
