SilentPatch for The Wonderful 101: Remastered

At the moment of writing this text, The Wonderful 101: Remastered is not released yet, but it was given early to Kickstarter backers. Since time is of an essence, this SilentPatch aims to fix a few issues the community has noticed during those few days. Most notably, SilentPatch drastically improves the game's frame pacing, so it's now locked to stable 60 FPS.

Notice: This patch has only been tested with version 1.0.0. Future official patches (if applicable) may have fixed some of those issues, in which case SilentPatch will skip them.

Featured fixes

  • The game's frame limiter has been rewritten for greater accuracy. Previously it would lock the game at 59 FPS and calculations would drift over time, effectively making the game's frame rate more unstable over time. It's now been fixed to be rock solid 60 FPS with consistent frametime, regardless of playtime.
  • Escape key used to put the game in the windowed mode has been remapped to Alt+Enter. Additionally, that hotkey can now cycle between windowed, fullscreen, and borderless instead of only putting the game in the windowed mode.
  • 60 FPS cap can now optionally be disabled from the INI file. WARNING: The game does not support high frame rates and it will speed up, so use this option ONLY if you use VSync or external frame limiters (like RTSS).
  • Error messages now display properly on PC's with a non-Japanese locale.
  • Original OST from the Wii U version of the game can now be enabled from the INI file.

[Feature Request] Allow dynamic change between remastered and original soundtrack in game

Hey there,
I was just wondering if it's possible to apply the same static executable path that i did here https://steamcommunity.com/app/1190400/discussions/0/4666237625649545093/ at runtime since having a modified executable isn't exactly the best approach, and having an option inside the ini file would indeed be a nice touch considering that you need this patch to run the game properly anyaway. All i did was changing the string located at 0x12CFFC4 to be "BGM_304_SwitchtoOrig" instead of "BGM_304_SwitchtoLive", and that does seem to be enough to let the game load the original soundtrack in game.

[Feature Request] Re-enable pressing L3 (left stick press) on gamepads to use taunt.

Hello. I don't actually have this game on Steam yet, but on another version of this game, I noticed that I can't taunt using L3 like one could in the original Wii U release. After looking into it, I discovered that functionality has apparently been disabled for the remastered release on all versions of the game.

One can still taunt by pressing the up and right buttons on a gamepad's right face buttons, but it's incredibly unwieldy due to certain actions like the "Unite Charge" custom block.

Obviously nothing can be done about the console versions of this game, but if you could include a function in this patch to re-add taunting with L3, it would give me all the more reason to buy the Steam version of the game and play that instead.
