Errors when using gem (Linux)

This is the error I have just been encountering after I have upgraded my kali linux. I had to reinstall metasploit as well because of so many issues and now this... I tried reinstalling gem completely and tried many other things on the internet but nothing helped. I never in my life encountered this issue so I am unfamiliar with it.
When I try creating a payload with msfvenom I get this exact error, when I just simply type in gem I get this error as well, I tried gem update --system and got the same error again.

Any ideas what is wrong here?
