Josué - you might like to look at
/g/data/x77/amh157/PanAnt/SpeedPanAnt.mp4
It is an animation from my latest 0.05° MOM6 Pan-Antarctic attempt. Currently two years in and I've saved daily output for ice thickness and concentration, as well as speed, SSH, surface temp and surface salinity (as well as bottom temp and salinity).
Data is in /g/data/x77/amh157/PanAnt/archive/panant-v2
.
I am suggesting this dataset because, even though time resolution isn't great, if you wanted to do some zoom-ins or fly-bys, spatial resolution is higher.
Hello @AndyHoggANU, @aekiss, @adele157, @navidcy, @wghuneke,
Over the next couple of weeks, I will upload snapshots and short videos of the animations I've been working on. I will really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on them.
I will create several issues for each of the animation ideas.
Please invite anyone who may be interested!
The instructions in README seem rather cumbersome... I mean, that's fine for me, but it does sound like "a big project"... not something anybody would do. Also they seem to imply that they are specifically tuned for VDI, is this correct? What about non-VDI users?
I guess the question "could the instructions become simpler?" is pointless here because I assume that if the answer is yes then @josuemtzmo would have already gone that path... :(
BTW, did you ever produce the video we discussed with the ice + temperature, or ice + vorticity? I think the plan here was to do a lap of the Antarctic continent.

Could we convert the readme to markdown as is the case for the rest of the organisation's repos? I feel people are much more used to markdown compared to rst
.
I guess just in general if it was magnified by (say) 2-4x it would show up the mesoscale much better. Some interesting places are the ACC, ASC, EAC, Leeuwin.

@josuemtzmo, it's impossible to reach you so in a moment of despair I thought I'd try here.
The following snapshots show MLD, salinity, and temperature from ACCESS-OM2 0.1 degrees.
The changes I have in mind are:
Please let me know if you would like any other change, otherwise, I will upload a sample video in the next couple of days.
