Getting Started

You can find the Neon Night theme in the Visual Studio Code Marketplace.

Installation

1. Open the Extensions sidebar in VS Code. View → Extensions
2. Search for Neon Night, choose "Neon Night" by chaseadamsio
3. Click Install to install it
4. Click Reload to reload VS Code
5. From the menu bar click: Code > Preferences > Color Theme > Neon Night (or any of the variants listed)
6. 🎉🎉 Enjoy!

Development

Run the develop:init task:

yarn prepublish && yarn develop:init

This will create a symlink in the VS Code extensions and build the theme for the first time. After running this, follow the Installation instructions to load the theme.

Publishing

• prepublish - Creates the neon-night.json and package.json in <ROOT>/themes and copies relevant files (README, license, static assets)
• vscode:publish - Publishes themes as the root directory for the extension.

Custom release-it plugin

Hey I saw your tweet, and was wondering about https://github.com/chaseadamsio/vscode-theme-neon-night/blob/master/release-it/version.js. As this is already default behavior of release-it itself, so why override it? :)

Cannot see the selected item

no distinction between the selected menu and the rest of the items, when I try to autocomplete

add markdown notes syntax highlighting

Add syntax highlighting for the Markdown Notes syntaxes:

• wikilinks
• tags

Menu item selection hard to see

The contrast between the currently-selected menu item and the other menu items can be really hard to distinguish, especially on less-than-ideal monitors. Would it be possible to make the two background colors differ more than they currently do?

Tags aren't highlighted and attributes/embed braces aren't colored like the screenshots.

How do you do the dashed squiggle indicator?

First, amazing theme, thank you. The dashed squiggles are amazing and really help them to stand out. I've been using it a couple of days and I'm getting a bit of eye strain off of the magenta, so I was looking at modifying another theme so I could still get the indicator. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing how you achieved that?
