exploringthebleak's Issues

Branch review request

Exploring The Bleak for windows, Exploring The Bleak online, and jsGame need to
be archived as Three.RL will be the new Exploring The Bleak. These three
iterations were nice and helped direct the workflow and end-direction of the
project, but don't encapsulate it from where they are now.

Exploring The Bleak will be 3D and browser based in WebGL.

Is gender necessary?

Option 1
When choosing a character you should choose your name, then your race, then
your sex since sex is dependant on race, and then your class, when the player
goes back to choose a race it forces him to choose following tabs information
again before clicking ready.

Easier Option.

Delete neutral sex or allow all races to choose neutral as a sex instead of a
select few.

Popular Opinion.

Sex is cosmetic and should not be required as it isn't used in any fashion.

Game balance review is needed, experience scales too high in end-game.

Experience is too lacking in the beginning.
Experience is too much in the end.

Options.

Perhaps just give a base amount for all creature types since the needed
experience to level is the same for each level.

Intended Results.

If all enemies are purged of levels the character should level each 1.5
dungeons.

Fix release high scores list

Ensure that the high scores list doesn't have erronerous entries.

Add a few high scores from friends and family who have played.

Encrypt the scores list at bit level so it isn't editable with a text editor.

Game balance review is needed, game is too easy.

Too much probability that defense will cause player to be unhitable.
Player also has a large chance of ONE-HITTING creatures.

Item defenses increase too much with levels.
Item attack increases too much with levels.

-Alternatively-

Creature defenses don't scale high enough with levels.
Creature offenses don't scale high enough with levels.

Blood on map when going up a level?

When going up a level to a previous map there's an awesome display of blood
splatters everywhere.

I don't think I killed that many people... lets research this

Kepler-10b Branch Initialized

Purpose of code changes on this branch:

This branch will inevitably be considered a fork, but while code changes are
identical and because it's based around the same framework as ETB let Keplers
additions that compliment ETB be transfered over. Kepler-10b was issued for the
2011 7DRL competition found at
http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php?title=7DRL_Contest_2011

When reviewing my code changes, please focus on:

Similarities and enhancements of Kepler-10b that could be used within Exploring
The Bleak.

After the review, I'll merge this branch into:

/trunk

Hotkeys aren't standard for RL's

In particular it's CTRL+H for help, need to add ? and h

Need to review standards for RL's and integrate a variety of movement and other
hotkeys to ETB.

When going up a level instead of down it ignores environment types

When going up a level instead of down a level it ignores environment types.
like level 3 should be environment type 1, when it increases to level 4 it
should then be environment type 2, when going back up a level to 3 again it
stays as environment type 2 instead of checking the levels environment type and
assigning it to its correct type (1).

Kepler-10b - Revisiting previous map display error

Kepler-10b has been undergoing issues after the port from ETB. The biggest is
the revisiting of previous maps. Revisiting previous maps isn't shown correctly.

This is simultaneously an issue on ETB with showing blood on previous map that
has been visited.
