battery-indicator-support's Issues

BatteryBot Pro randomly shuts down from time to time

Hello !
Such a problem
BatteryBot Pro randomly shuts down from time to time. And since I don't use my phone often, I find it turned off. And that's bad for the battery.
BatteryBot Pro 11.0.4, I don't know if older versions are turned off.
Android 8.1.0
Smartphone Hammer Energy 2019.

Way to donate without Google

If someone wants to donate but does not have Google Play installed to purchase BatteryBot Pro, is there another way?

[FR] Minimal Mode (no Status Bar icon, no Notifications)

Hi, I really like this app.
However I mainly use it for logging purposes or to look something up when there are issues. So I don't need continuous information from the app. Therefor it would be nice, if one could turn off the status bar icon and the notifications.

I have seen you already have lots of option to configure these, it is just missing an off option! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Thanks!

[FR] Power On mark

I like the app very much and install it on every device I get in my hands :)
I still miss one feature for experimental/unstable ROMs I happen to test. This is the "Power On mark" in LOG, much like we have "Power Plugged/Unplugged" marks.
This is about just one check during the app/service start up.
Thanks for the great app!!!

[Feature Request] allow a finer adjustment of alarm threshold

Now alarm thresholds are all selected among predefined lists, like for charge dropping below... the minimum option is 5%, but users may want 3%, 2% or so. Then please allow user to enter a number instead of selecting from a list (or make the list finer).

Not setting notification to silent means phone never goes to sleep

Hello, I've encountered an issue in Android 12 (possibly earlier and I may not have noticed) - when BatteryBot notifications is left it's in default stage, the phone is never fully asleep this leads to ironically poor battery performance and even phone heat up. Setting BatteryBot main notification to silent solves this issue. I noticed this at first because I would be on my lock screen and the phone tries to go to sleep and is woken up when BatteryBot updates.

Is there something you can do to fix this on your end, or perhaps recommend users set the notification to silent from within the app?

request: calculate battery% used per hour

It would be useful if average battery % used per hour was calculated for screen on time and hibernate mode since the last time the device was charged.

It's a great way to know how efficient battery use your phone or the ROM is using.

Notifications and widget not updating

Been using quite a while on Motorola phones without issues but recently switched to OnePlus n200 5g from T-Mobile. Now the battery percentage does not update unless I actually open the app

Alarm for when temperature drops below certain threshold

Some users use their devices in cold environments, where the battery could get too cold for it to operate well (and cause the device to suddenly power off). If you could add a lower temperature threshold alarm type, that would be great!

Tag a release for fdroid

Hi, great application, I often use it for investigating charging currents for different chargers. I note the version available in fdroid is a couple of years old. Could you tag a release for the mist recent version please, it will be updated in the fdroid repos automatically. Cheers!

[FR] Bluetooth headset battery

Android shows BT headphones' battery level (though quite rough). But is useful to track battery life time just as the phone's battery.
Is it possible?

Repeat alarm

I might be missing something, but I can't find how to let alarms repeat. Under some circumstances you simply miss the alarm and that can easily be solved by adding a repetition option.

I hope you like the idea.

Android Pie notification priority not working

I use this app for both low battery alarms and to provide a permanent notification with vital signs on my Google Pixel 2. Because I use Android's native ability to show the battery percentage via the System UI Tuner, I have no use for this app showing the percentage in the status bar, and keep the priority of the persistent notification set to "minimal" to hide the icon. This worked up through Oreo.

However, in Pie, Android no longer supports apps using different notification priorities per notification without the use of Android's notification channels that were introduced in Oreo. A separate notification channel is needed for each priority. Because this app is not currently using channels, hiding the icon can only be done via the system notification settings (the in-app priority selector no longer does anything at all), and doing so forces ALL BatteryBot notifications to minimal priority, which also silences and conceals my low battery alarms.

I need to be able to keep the persistent notification hidden while still allowing alarms to show in the status bar and make noise, and in Pie the only way to do this is to create a separate notification channel for each one. Any chance this could be implemented?

"1 mins until charged" at 100% for 20-30 minutes

On several Pixel 7A's with GrapheneOS, I find BatterBot Pro to show "1 mins until charged" while at 100% for well over 20 minutes. The system already states it's fully charged.

I'm wondering what the conditions are for BatteryBot to state the device is fully charged as opposed to when the system itself says it's fully charged.

Show current drain

I'm not sure if this is possible, but it'd be nice to have. Is there anyway to read how much current the device is using?

Cheers

Export current values

At the moment, when I export a log of past events, it includes temperature, voltage and other info, but not current. Would it be possible to include this?

Unexpected/odd values after my phone got wet

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't go kayaking with my phone unless it's in a waterproof case, you are absolutely correct.

That said, it did continue working, but Battery Bot Pro is printing out some odd information, as follows:

When plugged in
Health: "Cold"
Temperature: "-18C" (it varies, but always negative)

When I unplug, the values are as follows:
Health: "Good Health"
Temperature: "-14C" (it varies, but also always negative and slightly higher than when it is plugged in)

Oh yeah, it won't charge while it's turned on, only when powered down. I assume water has got somewhere it shouldn't and has disabled the charging circuits.

For the avoidance of doubt, the weather here does not get anywhere near -18C. It's currently around +15C, the battery is still "Cold".

The phone is a Galaxy S5 Mini, running Lineage 16 (Android 9 compatible). It is still maintained, the latest release was last week,

import to Android Studio while GitHub integrated

Hi,
how to open the project in Android Studio and syncing with the GitHub repository at the same time?

as you know this project is not Gradle-based and if I want to import it, how to have version control abilities and syncing?

[Feature Request] allow a longer/permanent maximum log age

Currently the max log age is 4 weeks, which is still relatively short if users want to record how their battery's performance changes over time. Please add more longer options (ideally n option to keep forever, since now storage of phones gets large enough to keep more data).

Incorrect current value when charging Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi, when I charge my phone, it appears to report the wrong current. If I connect it to a generic USB port, it reads 450mA, if I connect it to the high current (1A) port on my Lenovo Thinkpad, it reports 1350mA. Both of these are wrong, I believe. I don't have an AC charger to test.

This is the case whether I used the "old hack method" or not and whether I use the "current_avg" setting or not. The "multiplier" is set to 1000.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5, running Lineage 16 with microG, released last week.

I also use a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, the current values on that appear correct.

Feature Request: Battery Charging Limit

I've read a couple of posts on XDA(https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/themes/battery-charge-limit-vs-magic-control-t3821395)], Reddit(https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/7t3tmh/battery_charge_limit/) and some other sites (google basically) and the general consensus appears to be that charging to 100% decreases the longevity of the battery and optimal charge is between 80-90%.

On a lot of android devices, the charge of a phone can be stopped at anypoint by updating the battery control file. E.g: On my LGv20, /sys/class/power_supply/battery/charging_enabled is "1" when it is charging. I can force a stop to it by setting the value to 0 thru adb command:
echo 0 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/charging_enabled

I've found applications that will allow you to add a charge limit. Instead of adding yet another processes thats running to continually monitor battery and prevent charge after x%, I was wondering whether this can be an option included in as a feature in your app, since it is running anyway as a battery monitor. Perhaps, additional option for the "alarm" setting to:

  • Stop charging after certain %
  • charging after it drops below % if its connected
  • Run a script or app below or above certain %

Thanks.

Widget broken on Samsung J5

I love BatteryBot, it's been the single most reliable app I've used on all my smartphones :) Thanks for the great app!

I'm using the free app. I updated it a few days ago, to version 11.0.4 (December 4 update according to google). This broke the widget altogether: the widget icon just shows a black box with the text "Problem loading widget". This happens both with a pre-existing widget and when trying to create a new widget.

I'm on a Samsung J5 2017 (SM-J530F) running Android 9 and One UI version 1.1. I update apps manually and a bit haphazardly, so it's possible that an earlier update is to blame. (I haven't checked how often BatteryBot is released, but I don't remember updating the app for a very long time.)

[FR] Detect unsteady charging

I had a situation when charging was switching repeatedly on and off due to a faulty USB cable. This caused a battery to overhead and die.

Would be great to add a new type of alarm with detecting this (for example if there are more than X changes of charging statuses per minutes).

No percentage symbol

We all know that the battery level is a percentage value between 0 and 100 so is it necessary to display the vaule with a percentage symbol? My aging eyes would be more comfortable to just see the value only. Is it possible to add this as an option please?
