We just put out release 0.4.10, which includes:

 'pyyaml<=6.0.1',

When you get the chance, can you verify it if resolves your Python 3.12 issues?

It appears this error is specific to the pyyaml library. It looks like dsub is currently enforcing a version of PyYaml that doesn't support 3.12 yet. We're currently enforcing PyYaml 6.0 or less. I see PyYaml released 6.0.1 in July of this year, but that also doesn't appear to yet support. Curious, are you able to install pyyaml with py3.12 pip install pyyaml?

When there is support for 3.12, we can definitely push out a release including the appropriate dependency updates.

Confirmed that pyyaml==6.0.1 works with python3.12
