x-auth-tokens

does the adapter support x-auth header tokens?

Cannot use REST APIs that do not include the .extension

We have an e-commerce REST API that speaks in JSON, with paths like /transactions/1234 and /transactions/1234/items etc. The adapter is insistent on adding .json to all of the URLs, so is not currently usable. I'm not sure if this is a regression, since in somebody else's fork they say that "dm-rest-adapter by default does not add the extension to the URL". We need some way to tell the adapter to add the extension, or not:

  :adapter => :rest,
  :host => 'localhost',
  :port => 81,
  :format => 'json',
  :extension => '' # or nil, or false, or something
})

I can add this if there's no deliberate reason it's not available as an option.
