Domain transfer

@Holly-Transport has started the domain transfer with ITS. (I assume from her GoDaddy to the WorldBank management).

Tracking here to close when it's done.

Duplicated titles

From @Holly-Transport

(1) For the Updates, we like to include the company name and title (<h1> plus a divider) at the top -- see screenshot on the site and in Forestry:

(2) BUT. When we do it this way, with the Company and title in the blog post, they end up getting rendered on the homepage and cards, repeating the title (see screenshots):

(3) I think a work-around is to add a div or row to the update pages, which renders the title separately (h1 bold for company name; next line for h1 regular for title; then dividing line), so that we don't include the title in the body of the update text.

(4) I cannot find the right file to make this edit!! Can you? Maybe it is something to be done in Forestry, rather than the code?

Investigate protected static site

Now that we can have private repos, we need to find a way to publish the documentation, but not open to the public, only to members of the DDP.

Optimize assets

Refactor CSS to use SCSS or SASS instead to optimize assets.

Implement Rebranding

I just pushed 27f7cea which updates the name in the code. I don't see it deploying (blocked by #1), but also the email remains the same, as we don't yet have a new email.

Let's update it when it's done, and make sure there are no other leftover branding to fix.

🎉 for the new name! 😄

Pillar Icons

SVG.zip

For a fun activity, maybe someone would like to jazz up our six pillars with these custom-made icons (attached)? Keep those html/css margin and positioning skillz fresh?

Add Readme and Install doc

From the settings I get the deploy is done via netlify, but I'm not sure how is set up, who has access to that account. We should probably add it to a Readme.md.

The green labor market in Asia

Dear Sahiti,

The data was used for the SAEF, and there is a forthcoming blog post, we can share it when it’s out if it’s helpful for you.

Fix new icons

The icons should be aligned with each other,
horizontally.

Remove dependency to netlify

We don't really need it. It makes changes probably a bit more technical, but if we deploy directly from GH pages, we avoid paying another service (the hassle more than the $$).

  • Set up hugo to deploy with other baseurls
  • Set up a GH workflow to render the site with hugo and push it to the branch gh-pages
  • Set the new DNS
  • serve httpS and wait for the new certificate.
  • Remove the netlify hooks.
  • Delete the netlify account.

Turn on Pull Request Builds in Netlify

Netlify has a feature that will build each pull request at a unique, hidden URL.

What do you think about turning that on, so that we can see how the site looks when the PR is merged?

xMobility metric blog post

Let's make a blog post to convey to importance of mobility metrics, specially comparing across them, and implications for developing countries.

The core of the work is done already here

At-a-glance scroll goals:

  • Monitoring mobility is important, specially for developing countries, we have several options (Google, Apple, ... and private sector data we have access via the datapartnership like Facebook and Unicast, cubiq, Xmode, ... [list them] ).
  • Each provider might reflect different cohorts of people, or economic strata.
  • Couple of nice plots or maps.
  • It's really easy to get started, in fact all steps are here

The goal is to have it drafted for the Monday meeting, should a short blog post. 3 -5 paragraphs with 2-3 visuals..
