Quick Start

To use mapref in an existing SBT project with Scala 2.12 or a later version, add the following dependencies to your build.sbt depending on your needs:

RFC: Should we allocate an atomic reference for ref.access

Cats-effect does so, but Oscar raises some good questions as far as allocation costs for the method, and whether its useful as compared to letting it attempt to set the value twice.

Draft release for Scala 3

Following the merge of #15 , cutting a new release and pushing those artifacts out unblocks downstream projects from their own Scala 3 upgrades.

Background task to purge ofConcurrentHashMap cache type is not working leading to memory leak.

purgeExpiredEntries does not actually do any thing when no purgeExpiredEntriesOpt is assigned.
