I was having all sorts of issues until I dove into the console and realized the
problem: there was a
space in the path which was causing all sorts of trouble. After I renamed the
atvusb folder so that it
didn't have any spaces, everything worked!
Hope this helps,
jadam

Created the patchstick with no problem.
Powered down the Apple TV.
Inserted patchstick.
Powered up Apple TV. No picture, just a yellow blinking light on the Apple TV.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. After loading patchstick, just try going to appearance, screen menu
2. Attempt to use 1080p or 1920x1080 resolutions if you have a 1080p tv
3. Use the test resolution button
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Rather than getting a full screen picture at the new resolution, you get
all the text and windows as a huge window that you appear zoomed in on, and
most of the screen is hidden. See attached file for screenshot
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest XBMC/Launcher as of 0730 MST 10/6/2008 on ATV v2.2. Resolution on
ATV itself is set to 1080p, interface is HDMI
Please provide any additional information below.
I have also tried this on 2.1 with older launcher with same results. I
have seen this issue in the forums before so I am sure you guys know about
it, but I wanted to add it to the issue list. As I understand, ATV/XBMC
may not have the horsepower to decode 1080p video but the menus should
support it.
Thank you SO MUCH by the way for coming out with this - I wish I could
donate... may I donate to a charity in your name? I have paid for
patchsticks and spent hours making my own trying to get my ATV to do what
my old xbox running XBMC could do, but in one night this fixed it! If I
can't ever do 1080p thats fine, I now love the crap of my ATV again.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the remote to work, the ATV lights up orange (as it always does when
IR signal is sent)
but it doesn't work. It doesn't let me play, scroll, nothing. Can't power down
with remote either.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest on the ATV via Patchstick method which included XMBC .... install
went through fine. I
can see the two programs on the menu.
Please provide any additional information below.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run ATVUSB-Creator successfully
2. Install patch to ATV as instructed
3. Restart ATV
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
ATV starts as expected, then goes to XBMC/Boxee menu (not main menu) and
freezes. It will not
respond to the remote, although the light indicates it is receiving the signals
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ATV Gen 1 with 2.1 update
Please provide any additional information below.
I've tried re-installing the patch with the same result

Hi there... things are working pretty darn well (still on 2.1).
I was just wondering how one can EXIT xbmc and get back to norm ATV
menu's..
Also- how do I get the visualizer to come up when listening to a song
Finally- after a period of inactivity, it seems that XBMC maybe loses
focus or something- remote clicks yield the familiar "ding" sound of ATV
and nothing happens on-screen (XBMC just remains).
Any thoughts? Certainly NO complaints here though... just questions :)

this patchstick covers most/all programs or if each patchstick does one

After restarting the apple tv the IR remote no longer worked. The light

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output:
- "Thanks guys, this tool is wonderful! Really easy to use! Amazing work!"
Instead, several different kinds of output are more probable:
- "Is there going to be a windows version?"
- "you f**ked up my AppleTV!!! I'm going to sue you!!11"
- (well, you get the drift)
Just my way to say "Keep up the good work!". It's nice to see my crude,
rough PatchStick grow into something as beautiful as this.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create patchstick
2. Insert into ATV
3. Boot ATV
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I don't see any difference in the ATV, didn't seem to "install" anything when I
restarted the ATV
with the USB drive in it.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iMac, 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo, OSX 10.5.5
Please provide any additional information below.
Bit of a noob, so bare with me. I erased my USB drive with disk utility and
used "Mac OS
Extended" as the format. The Creator seemed to run successfully:
Verifying SHA1 of DMG image...
Extracting boot.efi ...
Creating USB Image...
Extracting atv_512MB.7z
Extracting atv_recv.7z
Creating USB Flash
Complete! (0:00:02)
DMG = 2Z694-5428-3.dmg
Popped it in my ATV and nothing happened. I "powered down" first, which I
assume means
unplug the ATV?
When viewing the USB drive on the iMac, should it appear empty? or should there
be files on it?
Advice greatly appreciated, thanks!
