Smart-DOC (Dental Oral and Craniofacial, formerly DSCI - Data Storage for Computation and Integration)

Is a web application to federate clinical, biological and imaging data.

It has two main components. The first component is the front end which includes forms to input data and interactive data visualization using d3.js. The visualization tools enable group selection for clinical trials and hypothesis testing.

The second components is the back end which includes the orchestration to data repositories. The data repositories use couchdb to store patient, clinical and imaging data in the form of attachments.

ENH: UI enhancements for "Create Task" Tab

• Rename "Validate File Selection" on the compute tab to "Create Task" - and as you suggested show the first two tasks
• Make "Preview Task" to "Preview all tasks"
• Put "Create Task", "Preview all tasks", "Run!" at the bottom of the page
• Put "Description" from software definition in place of the "Preview Tasks" button. We can add a full description, like what folders should a user choose, and any other variables that they need to change. The description should also point to the github repository. (Or we can make it part of software definition - but that's later)
• When "Run!" is hit, show a message with "Job ID" and/or "Job Name"
• Rename "Edit values globally for generated tasks" to "Change default parameters for the task"

STYLE: Confusing names for File/Directory selection and value change

When creating a task, users can select a directory or change a value by clicking on the respective parameter.
However, the window that pops up has confusing titles:

Maybe, the title should be something more descriptive like "Edit value|entry|field", and that "Validate File Selection" should be "Update Entry|Value|Field"

BUG: Need to enter a space in 'value' for selecting a directory in parameters of a software

During software parameter creation/editing, when 'Input Directory' is chosen (refer to image below), the value must be a space. Maybe this is not needed?

ENH: Add code for automatic software registration

New software added to DSCI right now are configured manually on AWS. Make this an automatic process with

• Coded task definition registration
• Email confirmation of software registartion
• Testing of the newly generated task definition.

ENH: UI Changes for "Computing" Tab

• Change "Executable" columns to be "Taks Name" with software names in the column
• Have an ability to sort through the jobs by Timestamp, jobid, name, email.
