aqua-monitor's Issues

adjust clim colorbar

There are just a few shorelines in the world that have changed 10 m/yr. In the paper we state that all long-term changes smaller than 0.5 m/yr are classified as 'stable'. Therefore i suggest to modify the color limits to [-3 -1 -0.5 0.5 1 3]. This will result in a more colorful global picture 😄

Add a few words to text

Toevoegen van bijzin aan tekst in vakje linksboven: [… Red bars indicate erosive shorelines], based on a linear fit through shoreline positions.

Data source with coastline

  • Coastline heatmap, for #4 (in mapbox/earthengine)
  • Transects, for #4 (in mapbox, use WMS in aqua monitor)
  • Timeseries, for #2 (use google chart, perhaps serverless backend for statistics)

Profiles zoom level

In most detailed zoom level the profiles are somewhat small. Perhaps set width of profiles based on zoom level.

add text that bars are clickable

we need to add text somewhere that by clicking on the bars a chart pops up showing the shoreline changes for that specific transect.

Add TUD logo or name

To reflect the TUD contribution in the PHD of Genna & Arjen it would be good to add the TUD logo or name to the Shoreline Monitor.

Restriction on sharing shoreline data on GEE

At this point I prefer to restrict sharing all global shoreline change trends stored at GEE. Although i do not know how. I also do not understand yet how people would be able access the data at GEE.

Timeseries chart

  • minimal version with just measurements
  • statistical method (linear, loess, stl)

Interactive plot

Would be nice to have the plot interactive? Not sure if that is easily implemented

Outlier timeseries plot

The geojson files also contain a list of outlier ids (outliers_1 and outliers_2). Would be nice if they can be disregarded in the timeseries plot according to the script in the proof of concept version

Improve the visual appearance of future shorelines

  • infobox - put Future Shorelines on top, add a link to shorelines paper / site

  • map points to transects

  • move EE assets to projects/dgds/shorelines

  • delete commas from x axis

  • re-use chart from the shoreline and extend with future shorelines

  • add a vertical line on 2020 to split future / past changes

  • add disclaimer on future shoreline chart:

  • add progress during click > chart

For a future ambient change, a continuation of the present coastal (nourishment) policy and its effectiveness is assumed, which may be highly uncertain in the future.

Google Inquiries form in timeseries

Add a textbox (below the table) in the timeseries window with information on the inquiry form and the opportunities to acquire shoreline products and options for a country-wide shoreline state assessment.

Add all global transects?

I see that we only present ‘sandy transects’ and not all transects worldwide. That is true, right?

Or are we adding the non-sandy transects later? Reason that we focus on sandy shorelines in the paper is that we have only validated the shoreline trends for such coasts. For the webviewer, we can be more opportunistic by sharing all 2.2 mln transects.
