The following error occurred when using `7zip bin` after electron packaging？

5.2.0 Cannot execute on Linux

Error: node_modules/7zip-bin/linux/x64/7za: Permission denied

$ cd node_modules/7zip-bin/linux/x64/
$ ls -l
-rw-rw-r-- 1 auser auser 1457384 May 23 18:15 7za

Maybe the npm package has been built without right permissions? (E.g. on Windows?)

Cannot execute xx/7za.exe in windows10 ,access is denied?

7za not found on linux

On Linux, when I run linux/x64/7za directly, I get a not found error. It is ok on win and mac

7zip vulnerability

#23 Hey man, could you update the version of all the exe and tar included in your project?

throwing EACCES error on MacOS

Upon closer inspection I can see that the permissions are wrong:

Is this a packing / publishing issue?

Multi-threaded compression

According to Activity Monitor the 7za binary spawned by electron-builder stays at a constant 100% most of the time, so it sounds like multi-threading isn't really used, since I have 10 cores available.

Can compression with 7za be made faster? That's my main bottleneck in the build process.

Licensing

Are you sure this can be licensed under MIT? I would think you'd need to follow the 7z license here https://www.7-zip.org/license.txt

problems with 7zip mac - buggy rename

Hi,

When certain repos are compressed with certain options, the rename command doesn't work.. only on mac.

We were looking around for where 7zip on mac came from to see if it can be updated, but we can't find any project to make a mac build - was this compiled yourself?

Different versions for linux, windows and mac

I've been wondering, why the linux-version in this package is still 16.02 but the windows-version has updated to 18.0.1.

I'm asking, because 16.02 does not support creating zip-files to stdout, which I would like to do.

RISCV 7za bin

Though i can fix this by building from source, still wish a RISCV 7za bin installed with 7zip-bin.

Add windows arm64 binary

7zip-bin doesn't work in Parallels on M1 macs or any other Windows machine running on Arm64 architectures. Please recompile for arm64.

Among other things, this breaks electron-builder.
electron-userland/electron-builder#6677

7zip-bin not working on alpine (Docker)

When running 7zip-bin inside alpine docker, it produces error of "file not found". I have created a gist that will reproduce the issue: https://gist.github.com/laysent/b12faceac4bcf10bee04aabfa505c244

I have tested in on MacOS 10.14.5

I have verified that the file exists in that location, just it cannot be executed.

Issue with multibyte filenames on macOS

If file has non ascii multibyte characters in filename - 7z can't zip them.

When trying to install 7zip-bin it does not find in package.
