RadEst is a repo for atmospheric parameters estimation using Optimal Estimation (PyOptimalEstimation) and onboard radiometer observations.
Operational version of the radiometer based retrieval tool used at KNMI. It uses Brightness Temperatures from onboard radiometers, mean and covariance matrices as apriori data and estimates atmospheric variables such as Near Surface wind speed over the ocean. It uses Baesian estimation (Rodgers 2000) as implemented by M. Maahn (pyOptimalEstimation) and accelerated by M. Echeverri (pyOptimalEstimation/jacobianTest).
