IPA_SERVER_HOSTNAME in StatefulSet - how can it scale?

that environment variable gets set to .Values.hostname, which is a static string from the values file.

I don't understand how this can scale up replicas, cause that variable tells each pod who he is. Thus, each pod would have to have a different value - that StatefulSet can not do.

I want to run a FreeIPA cluster of 3 replicas (pods) in my kubernetes cluster. Due to constrains on the volume claim, each would end up on a different node. Just how to handle IPA_SERVER_HOSTNAME properly I can dont see. It needs to be set, cause its a public name which the pod itself does not know.
