modbus_sim_cli's Issues

Missing Simulation Feature

Hi,

Nice work here. I'd like to suggest implementing an existing feature in the GUI version of the simulator. The modbus_simulator in python (owned by riptideio) has this feature wherein you can enable simulation; this will make registers change in values periodically. This is perhaps an important feature in actually simulating a real device.

Thanks!

configuration file issue

After trying to execute run cmd: sudo modbus_simulator -c str

getting following error:

Invalid Monitor configuration file

Missing Installation Guide

Would be very helpful If you could add an installation guide in the README.

(I'm not a python user but I don't have a choice because reality is there are only very few out here) I really like the modbus simulator in GUI (https://github.com/riptideio/modbus-simulator) - and that project refers to this one for the CLI version of the simulator which I very much need.

upgrade to latest version of modbus-tk

this is a feature request to update the dependency modbus-tk to the latest version e.g. 1.0 at the time of writing.

we are having this issue ljean/modbus-tk#82 which was fixed with version 0.5.10, unfortunately the latest version of modbus-tk that seems to work correctly modbus_sim_cli is version 0.5.8

Reactive output register simulation

In real cases, when input registers change in value, some output registers would also change in value. For example, in an electric fan unit, an input register for power goes up, an output register for rotations per minute will also go up. Ofcourse the relationship of those two values isn't always linear. We actually need this feature and perhaps attach other kinds of formulas f(x) = y (perhaps via config) to simulate relationships between registers and also reaction times.

This is a very important feature to us. We'd like to know if this can be completed soon, otherwise, we'd like to ask for some direction perhaps which files and lines to check to implement this
