Tomato 2.1 Firmware/Information

Is there a source for the TMK firmware you used for your Tomato build? I saw that you had mentioned in the blog post that it used TMK, but I was unable to find a folder for the Tomato in your tmk_keyboard repo. Is there some other firmware in there that I should be using?

Also, I noticed that there's an R1 marking on the Tomato's PCB for a resistor, but I couldn't find a suggestion for how many ohms the resistor should be. Could this information be added to the Tomato's readme file?

Nori: several questions

Hi,

I just stumbled upon your Nori PCB and decided that I would try my luck building the project. (I have some soldering skills but never did a keyboard before.)

Two questions:

  • you mention "EasyEDA ordering info" at https://github.com/di0ib/Misc/tree/master/nori -- does it mean that EasyEDA can also provide the necessary components (diodes, pro micro, switches, ...)?

  • is it possible to use individually-addressable (ws2812b?) LEDs with this board? This makes my question highly related to #7.

Thanks!
Ondrej

Add LEDs to 4x4?

Hi! The 4x4 board looks great -- very close to what I need. I'm wondering if you think there's a way to add per-key LEDs? It doesn't look like LEDs are integrated into the circuit or that there are cutouts for LEDs on this (is that right?)

So, a couple questions:

  • How hard do you think it would be to add cutouts for LEDs so that I could build a matrix under the board?
  • Would there be some other way of building an LED matrix on top of the board?

If you created a version of this with integrated, addressable per-key LEDs, I would be very, very interested. Essentially, I'm looking into building a monome / grid controller (for music) with mechanical keys.

Resistor size

Does any know what the 2 resistors should be on the 4pack? I have tried using 220ohm and after a week two of the LEDs have gone. Some info would be highly appreciated

Foobar pcb/gerber files

Hi, I love your posts on lots of different keyboards, and especially like that you share both gerber files and firmwares. But I can't seem to find the gerber files for the foobar keyboard mentioned in this post: http://www.40percent.club/2017/09/foobar-10.html?m=1

Do you mind sharing the files? One half of that would serve perfectly as a macropad for me, and it should even fit within the 100x100 mm specials.

Not enough information for myself.

Hello, I'm trying to get the 2key.ino file to work, but there's always an error every time I try to upload. I tried changing boards, libraries, all that. I don't know what to do. What am I even supposed to do?

pcbway silk screen configurations

Not an issue but more of a comment.
www.pcbway.com will refuse a design if the silkscreen layer is not present.
It is the case with Misc/nori/nori-plate-top.rar , and my guess is that some top and/or bottom plates designs lack a silkscreen layer.
I sent them a new configuration without silkscreen (see 3rd pic) and will update the issue if they accept it.

Firmware programming documentation/guide?

Is there a guide or information somewhere with some info on programming these? I have a couple of the 2pack and I know designing these is probably more of a hobby but some basic info on the pins used or similar would go a long way.

Source of 4x4x4x4

Hey di0ib,
I am planning on a board like your new 4x4x4x4. I would be very happy if you could reach out to me and share your source files for it because i am very new to using Eagle and my first tries were not even close to your designs. Especially when printing them your quality is very good. My plan is a 4x4x4 just like a Planck but being able to use the 2 Dollar deal. Then one could use a Pro Micro instead od the outdated Micro as well. If that sounds interetsing to you.

If you feel like reaching out to me my mail address is in my bio. Have a nice day and keep the great work.

Key rollover

Does this board (or the 5x5) support any form of key rollover (6 key or N-key)? Thanks!

Original PCB design file and software?

Hi. What software was used to design the PCB and could to provide the file for that software so the PCB can be modified (e.g. to add switches and adjust the spacing between switches). I was thinking of putting a strip of addressable RGB LEDs underneath which would be controllable by the PC but I don't know whether that will be far above my skill level.
(Referring to the MFL 12-key stick)
