Solve various vue (Visual Understanding Environment) problems see issue #42 and #43.

1. Linux: Build a version of VUE that can be placed in /usr/bin and has an associated .desktop file so that it registers with desktop launchers and and can be used for file associations so that .vue and .vpk files can be double clicked to open them in VUE. See ./Linux/README-Linux.md

2. MacOS Catalina: Workaround to use VUE in Catalina. See ./Mac Catalina/README-Mac.md

vue-solutions's Issues

vue does not launch browser

when a resource is clicked on, vue does not launch a browser.

Mac: sftp or scp to AWS for file saving

work out a secure method for transferring vue files between AWS and local

Win: vue.exe file still has java dependency

the included vue.exe is supposed to be self contained but requires the presence of a java runtime env already installed.

vue hijacks html and zip extensions

setting the file launch breaks html and zip mimetypes, launching VUE instead of browser or file roller.

Workaround:

right click on a zip file, select "open with-other application-reset to default." this seems to fix the zip and html launching without breaking the launch of .vue and .vpk files.

Mac: VPK files won't open on AWS via vnc

on AWS, opening vpk files produces a "file not found" error even though the file is there. THinking there might be some decompress program missing from AWS linux 2, seeing as vpk files are just zip archives. unzipping the vile then opening the internal .vue files works, but the links between them fail.
