asdf-dependency-graph's Introduction

asdf-dependency-graph

A minimal wrapper around dot available at least on Linux systems to generate dependency-graphs.

(Caveat to the above graph: external dependency of dot.)

Other Solutions

  • asdf-viz: It was faster/easier to start from scratch and do what I want to do, than dig into asdf-viz to figure out how to make it do what I want to do. Lisp Curse :/.
  • asd-graph: (i) I couldn't load it. (ii) The approach of parsing an asd file instead of relying on the introspection facilities felt weird.

asdf-dependency-graph's Issues

Graph of Serapeum: "Invalid component designator: (REQUIRE EXTENSIBLE-SEQUENCES)"

Hello,

thanks for this tool.

I'm trying to graph a project, it chokes with Serapeum:

(asdf-dependency-graph:generate "deps.png" "serapeum")
=>
Backtrace:
  0: (ASDF/SESSION:SYSDEF-ERROR "~@<Invalid component designator: ~3i~_~A~@:>" (:REQUIRE :EXTENSIBLE-SEQUENCES))
      Locals:
        ARGUMENTS = ((:REQUIRE :EXTENSIBLE-SEQUENCES))
        FORMAT = "~@<Invalid component designator: ~3i~_~A~@:>"
  1: ((:METHOD ASDF/SYSTEM:FIND-SYSTEM (T)) (:REQUIRE :EXTENSIBLE-SEQUENCES) T) [fast-method]
      Locals:
        ASDF/FIND-SYSTEM::ERROR-P = T
        ASDF/COMPONENT:NAME = (:REQUIRE :EXTENSIBLE-SEQUENCES)
  2: (ASDF-DEPENDENCY-GRAPH::DEPENDENCY-NODE-LIST #<ASDF/SYSTEM:SYSTEM "serapeum">)
      Locals:
        ASDF-SYSTEM = #<ASDF/SYSTEM:SYSTEM "serapeum">
  3: (ASDF-DEPENDENCY-GRAPH:GENERATE "deps.png" "serapeum")
      Locals:
        OUTPUT-FILE = "deps.png"
        TARGET-SYSTEM = "serapeum"

Serapeum has this in its .asd:

  :depends-on (;; Support for extensible sequences on Lisps that
               ;; provide it.
               (:feature :abcl (:require :extensible-sequences))
