What's BackROLL ?

BackROLL is modern, containerized and open-source backup solution for KVM guests. It allows you to define logical KVM pools and backup policies to backup all your KVM guests according to your needs.

It's also

• A beautiful web UI to manage and monitor your backups, launch restore tasks, etc.
• No downtime during backups
• No agent on guests nor KVM hosts
• Fully containerized with minimum maintenance needed

What do I need?

BackROLL 0.1.0 requires at least

• A MySQL/MariaDB database
• A server which can run Docker
• An OpenID provider (Keycloak, Google/Microsoft, Okta, etc.)

When storage path is changed several times, backup is not triggered

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Create a backup policy
Run backup
Wait for backup to finish
Change storage path
Run backup
Set storage path back to original value
Start backup, flower does not receive any task

disable auth completely - testing/poc

we are implementing a Cloudstack PoC, and together with CS we want to use BackROLL. Is there a way to disable auth completely
for testing purpose?

Blank UI

After successfull installation, the UI is blank (browser requests are listed below). No errors in docker logs. Is there any means for debug?

Restore not starting from Ressources Panel

ISSUE

Restore not starting from Ressources > Virtual Machines > Backups > Restore
Task is not triggered and flower receives nothing. Restore works fine from the Tasks panel.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Go to Ressources > Virtual Machines > Backups > Select Disk and click restore

Need plugin for Cloudstack

Any tentative time or date for releasing the cloudstack plugin. We are happy to test the plugin in our environment and to help you on the project.

support of proxmox backup server

Would be nice, if you will take a look on proxmox backup server solution. They have very nice KVM backup support, including incremental backups, live restore and much more. They also offer proxmox-backup-client package, which have almost all needed tools to make a backup of kvm machines.
